About

Dan Champ

Raised in Roseville, California, Dan grew up in a close-knit, middle-class family that valued hard work, faith, and community. His father was a civil engineer who dedicated his career to public service, while his mother devoted herself to raising Dan and his sister before later working as a school aide.

Dan enjoyed a happy childhood filled with strong friendships, family support, and opportunities to explore a variety of interests. While he participated in sports such as soccer, baseball, and swimming, music became his greatest passion. Beginning in fifth grade, he developed a love for the trumpet and went on to perform in marching, concert, jazz, and pep bands throughout middle and high school.

His entrepreneurial spirit emerged early when he founded a youth Dixieland jazz band that performed for several years at the renowned Sacramento Dixieland Jazz Jubilee.

It wasn’t because I didn’t think older adults would enjoy the experience. The idea simply wasn’t on my radar. I had been focused on building travel experiences for students, and that was the audience I naturally envisioned every time I planned a new itinerary.
